Grief in the Holidays with Briana Michelle Snellgrove
Tuesday Dec 20, 2022
Tuesday Dec 20, 2022
If you have lost someone you love it can feel like a piece of you is gone. But my prayer for you in this conversation is that you ask God to fill you up with His love, comfort, peace, and wisdom. God is in control and He has our lives in His hands. Our guest this week is Briana Snellgrove who is an entrepreneur, blog host of In Light of Anguish, and new to grief after the passing of her father earlier this year. In this conversation, we get to hear about how great Briana's dad was and how God has comforted her through her mourning. The pain of losing a father is SO real. My own father passed away on January 2, 2022, and the pain is still there. I still grieve. I miss him terribly, but I have found peace and joy in knowing I will see my Dad again in heaven. For those of you who are grieving and are reading this, I am so sorry. God is with you. For those of you who are grieving alongside a friend who is heartbroken -- I just want to say thank you. Thank you for caring. Thank you for being there and thank you for listening in hopes you continue to help that friend who is grieving. Talking with Briana was healing for me in ways it's hard to describe but I thank God for it!

Canopy of Hope with Terri Merrick
Tuesday Dec 13, 2022
Tuesday Dec 13, 2022
Our guest this week is Terri Merrick!! Y’all are going to love her so much. She’s so encouraging because she gives all the credit to Jesus!! “It’s all about Jesus!” said Merrick. Terri is the Executive Director and Founder of the Pensacola Dream Center which runs Canopy of Hope in Pensacola, FL. Terri tells us Canopy of Hope was opened to be a safe temporary shelter for women who have been abused, trafficked, and sexually exploited, those homeless, some coming out of jail, and other crises. She tells us how they provide 2-3 three weeks of shelter, love, and counseling to see where these ladies want to go with their lives.
This is SUCH a beauitful conversation because, during their time at Canopy of Hope Terri shares how their team assists the women recover by praying for them and letting the women have a chance to pause, rest and connect with God.
Terri also revealed in this chat that the first step to helping many of these women is by getting them out of their current situation and into a safe place where they can think clearly without fear of harm.
It's so obvious from her joy, but JESUS is the driving factor behind the programs she’s leading. God bless Terri and her team who are helping women transition to more positive lifestyles of self-sufficiency.
