Three Things God Requires of You Today
Tuesday Mar 30, 2021
Tuesday Mar 30, 2021
This week we are talking about a Bible verse that keeps life simple. It tells us that God requires us to do three things. “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8 ESV
I was reminded of this verse one day at work when a retired pastor told me all God wanted me to do was three things. Friends, I was leaning into whatever this nice man was about to tell me.
He held up his hand and said to do these three things and things will be better for everyone. “If our country would just do this we would be in a lot better shape,” he said. Holding up three fingers he said to “God wants us to act justly. Be honest. Do what is fair & right.” He said for the second thing God requires us to do is to “Love mercy. Don’t worry about what’s in your head. We need to focus on our hearts. God is looking at our heart.” And he said for the third thing God requires us to do is to “Walk humbly. God doesn’t look at our skin, He looks at our heart. God came to us from a lowly position. We are to do the same.”
Then he showed me his tai chi moves which were awesome. I tried them out and laughed the entire time. It was so fun!
We continued to laugh together as a group came together to try to learn his tai chi moves. He was a great teacher, very patient! But when we left the conversation, he said to me quietly the verse we talked about was from “Micah 6:8.”
God used that man to speak to me. I pray this scripture that I believe God put on His heart will also speak to you.
Here's the NIV version of this scripture, Micah 6:8 -- "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."

Choosing Jesus in a Trial with Kim Scott
Tuesday Mar 23, 2021
Tuesday Mar 23, 2021
No one is perfect. We all sin and fall short of the glory of God. But what do we do when we have troubles and trials that change everything? Do we turn to Jesus? Do we choose Jesus in our darkest hour?
The Bible says we will have troubles. “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NIV
This week's guest, Kim Scott, encourages us to Jesus telling us how a tragedy in her life drew her to Jesus. From that trial, Kim has a new, energized boost to want to share His love with others, using platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
Thank you Kim for your time and for sharing what God has on your heart!

Hearing from God with Christin Turner
Tuesday Mar 02, 2021
Tuesday Mar 02, 2021
Christin Turner takes a deep dive this week into how to hear from God. In this podcast, she describes hearing God's voice in several ways but in one way she says God's voice is like a radio frequency and it's always playing, but do we have our radio tuned into His frequency to hear Him talking to you? Do you have your radio turned on? Are you tuned into Jesus? So good right!?
Christin such a trusted voice in my life. She is so tuned into Jesus and His voice. I pray you are drawn to God's voice and you hear from God in this episode.
Here is a link to the study she referenced in this podcast below in the hyperlink. Note that you have to pay to get this study, and there is also a free quiz: Prophetic Personalities – Truth to Table
Also, below are the authors/speakers that have been helpful for Christin as she has learned to hear from God:

Kris Vallotton
Shawn Bolz
As a bonus! Christin wanted to share with you all a prayer she likes to pray before reading Scripture or anytime.
She prays:
"God, open my eyes to see the things of you more clearly.
Open my ears to hear you more clearly.
Open my mind to understand you.
Open my heart to feel what you feel.
And strengthen my will to obey."
Towards the end of the podcast, Christin also talks about when she has felt like she is not hearing from God. This podcast is one of my favorites! Thank you Christin for your time!

Small Groups and Prayer with Ginger DeVries
Tuesday Feb 16, 2021
Tuesday Feb 16, 2021
This week we are talking about small groups and prayer with Ginger DeVries. To some, a small group may sound like a pretty intimidating church phrase. But Ginger explains the benefits of joining a small group for your daily walk with God.
Hebrews 10:24-25 brings everything home! It reads -- "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near (Hebrews 10:24-25)."
So good. We need other Christ-followers to encourage us in the Lord, drawing us closer to Him and His goodness. The way you do small groups this year may be different than how small groups have looked in the past, but that's ok. We talk more about that in this podcast.
The scripture Ginger shares as her favorite verse helping her through this season is Zephaniah 3:17 which reads:
"The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
Ginger talks about small groups in Pensacola at Echo Life Church. You can check out their current groups, here: www.echolifechurch.com/groups
Ginger also talked about taking a spiritual gifts test to see what gifts God has given you. Here is the website she recommends in the podcast to go for more information: https://www.lifeway.com/en/articles/women-leadership-spiritual-gifts-growth-service
Last but not least! At the end of the podcast, we talk about how "faith comes from hearing." Here is that scripture: "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ." Romans 10:17

This is a fun one! Please enjoy hearing from the CEO and Co-Founder of Glorify, Henry Costa. We talk about his application that is free right now, called, "Glorify." You can download it at the time this podcast is airing for free, but Henry does say that could change... So just a heads up!
This app is awesome and it’s scripture focused, so that’s why I wanted you all to know about it. I pray this app encourages you all in your walk with the Lord.
This app has been a game changer for me with my quiet time. This app helps me get focused on the Lord even after I walk away from my Bible. So awesome right!?
I’m very thankful for this app and the people who have put it together and create the apps content. There’s new content daily!!The link to download their app and connect with them is listed below.
