Prayer for Back to School with Risa Reeves

Hey friends! We are praying with Risa Reeves for anyone and everyone who is involved with the school system. Here in our area school starts back August 10th. Our guest this week, Risa Reeves is the Director of Student Programs at Haiti One by One. She tells us the Bible verse that is encouraging her in this season is Proverbs 3: 5 which says: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." 
She encouraged us to read all of Proverbs 3 noting that there are some good verses to pray over your children before they go back to school... If you have children in school like us!
So we just pray in this episode to JESUS for anyone and everyone who is involved in our school systems here or in Haiti! In Jesus name, Amen!

Living to Glorify His Name with Ava Sturgeon

This week we are joined by Author, and interim director of Women at Olive Baptist Church, Ava Sturgeon. I love how she talks about worshipping our LORD at such a young age and the picture she paints for us of her singing praise music on a purple front porch with her family. Ava is so kind to share with us what God has done in her life and what He is doing now as she steps into a new role as the interim director of Women at Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola, FL. Ava does step into the role that our dear friend and sister in Christ Beth Harris had. My heart overflows knowing that she has stepped up into this leadership position to assist her church and church family in this way. As many are still probably grieving the loss of Beth. I loved chatting about what we think Beth may be doing in heaven with Jesus right now. God is so good to give us His picture of heaven in the Bible when He calls it, "paradise." Love our LORD and love our sister in Christ -- AVA!

My new friend Asha Junot is so kind! Her heart for the LORD is so encouraging! She is wholeheartedly seeking God and we are getting the benefits of it. Praise God for Asha, her life, her family, and for what God is doing in her heart. Asha shared on the podcast that her book is about her story of infertility and adoption. Made From Scratch with Author and Business Leader & Owner Mignon Francois

Our guest this week is Mignon Francois who is the Founder and CEO of The Cupcake Collection (TCC). She has cupcake stores in Nashville and New Orleans and the business started in her home where her first customer was her neighbor.
Mignon was first paid $5 on her first day of saying yes to that first job and God has been blessing her business since. Mignon stepped up to the challenge to use her experience in school taking chemistry classes to create her own cupcake recipe. Her recipe has won tons of awards. She has been featured on the Today Show and she is widely followed and asked to speak at events to encourage others.
Now the business is a multimillion-dollar cupcake business with multiple locations and a new book! This spring, Mignon released her first book about her experience in a memoir she wrote called, Made from Scratch: Finding Success Without a Recipe.
This is Mignon's second time on the podcast. She was our 14th guest back in April 2020! She was so kind to come on the podcast then and share her testimony to encourage others to broadcast His love. I have loved watching what God has been doing in her life. Now with her new book out where she shares her story of climbing out of a life of continuous upsets, struggle, and lack to building a legacy that would bless her and future generations.
