Terri Merrick is the Executive Director and Founder of the Pensacola Dream Center. Terri tells us it was after a mission trip to India that God put it in her heart to be on mission right where God had planted her, in Pensacola. Now she runs a mission that is doing weekly service to people who need it. Her mission, through God's guidance and help, provides food for the hungry, mentoring for those who struggle with addiction or who have been a victim of human trafficking and so much more. I love Terri. She isn't affiliated with any local church. She is all about unity. She is about JESUS and His Word. Terri serves the Lord. Be encouraged by Terri's chat and then at the end of this podcast I share some encouragement from Tim Tebow's book called, "Through My Eyes."
Terri shares Hebrews 10:34-39 which says:
34 You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. 35 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.
36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37 For,
“In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.”[f]
38 And,
“But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.”
39 But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.

Tuesday Sep 15, 2020
Dr. Rodney Bensley works in Murfreesboro, Tennessee as a vascular surgeon. He tells us recently the Lord put it on his hear to start talking to patients about their faith when it was appropriate. He tells us he has led one of his patients to Christ days before he passed away. Thank God for doctors like Dr. Bensley. Please keep him and his team in your prayers in this season of COVID-19.
Dr. Bensley says he and his family are leaning on Psalm 91 a lot in this season and they especially love, Psalm 91:7 which says -- "A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you." He says he is praying this scripture over his family and believing God will take care of his family.
Thank you, Dr. Bensley, for your time and for sharing what God has on your heart!

Helping Adoptions Happen with Milkglass Candle Co.
Tuesday Sep 08, 2020
Tuesday Sep 08, 2020
Katie and Luis Zamot have started a new business, making candles. Their company is called Milkglass Candle Co. The reason why they started this candle company with their three kids was to help out other families financially while they go through the adoption process.
Katie and Luis have two children of their own and they adopted their youngest son, Shepard about a year ago. The couple says God has led them to help others financially who have it on their hearts to adopt as well. Their story of adoption was painful and joyful... It was expensive and it didn't turn out as they had originally planned but as they say in this podcast, "Everything was right." Katie says they would walk through it all again because of how God has walked with them through it and made what was not good on paper, good for them. That is God.
I am thankful for this couple, for their business and for sharing their story. Please show them some love on their Instagram! xoxo

Bettering Women from God's Word: Working Out & Eating Healthy with Ali Hill
Tuesday Aug 11, 2020
Tuesday Aug 11, 2020
Let's get our workout on with our very own personal trainer, Ali Hill! Ali has been in the fitness industry for more than a decade and this week on "Broadcast His Love" she shares 1 Corinthians 10:31 "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."
Ali tells us it's important to not try to be perfect or be the best at working out but instead to focus on being intentional about being active and eating healthy. She says she started working in the fitness industry by teaching Zumba classes. She said, "It was so fun, we would be so sweaty doing those dances. It was a really fun time."
Ali grew up in Ashville, North Carolina, and says her childhood home was pretty active. "We valued fitness, sports, and exercise daily. So I grew up doing that every day and seeing my parents exercise every day. I just really liked it (exercise).", said Hill.
However, fitness hasn't always been easy for Ali. She tells us she used to idolize how she wanted to look. "I think it really started to shift with I was pregnant with my twins. I couldn't work out." She said it was then that she needed to understand from God's word what her best self was supposed to look like. She shares the Philippians 3:20-21 which reads, "But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself."
Hill also shares with us what she has learned what she should be striving for and it's not what most people think. "It may not be the Instagram body that a lot of us picture. It is going to be a body that can move, that can walk, that can run, that can lift things without hurting themselves and run with our kids without getting out of breath and a body that feels good because we didn't eat a whole pizza." Don't you love Ali!? She knows from experience how hard it is to maintain a healthy body and she is working hard daily to be a great example of that. Thankfully we can follow her health journey and be encouraged by our sister in Christ!

Bettering Women from God's Word: Managing our Money with Angela Lane
Tuesday Aug 04, 2020
Tuesday Aug 04, 2020
Executive Mortgage Loan Originator at Southeast Mortgage and Pensacola Branch Manager, Angela Lane, tells us how we can be good stewards of our finances starting today.
She tells us the first thing to do in staying on top of our finances is to know Hebrews 12:11 which says "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it."
Angela is passionate about this subject and says managing our money is not easy, but if we make a budget and build an emergency fund, it will be beneficial in the long run.
One of the lessons Angela mentions from Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University is the importance of making a budget and following that budget so we will "live like no one else, so we can give like no one else." She says that some people don't like the thought of being constrained to a budget but actually having a budget is freeing so that your priorities are cared for and then you can do things like go on a date night and/or by a birthday gift.
She explains the importance of having self-discipline in following your budget so that you can give and pay for your expenses.
Angela is a loan officer and says from her experience that it's super important for people to have an emergency fund.
From Dave Ramsey's class, she knows that an emergency fund starts with putting aside at least $1,000 in case something comes up that needs to be paid for. She says in the class, the first thing Dave encourages is to put aside your emergency fund (as quickly as possible) for when something comes up that needs to be paid for. In this podcast, Angela gives some ideas to get an emergency fund raised.
We also talked about Publix's BOGO deals that you can find online. Here is a link to that: https://www.publix.com/savings/weekly-ad/bogo?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PX23_09_031_09_0_T&utm_term=publix%20bogo%20now&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIg9vDpOnP6gIVyrzACh1AHw4ZEAAYASAAEgLCe_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
At the end of the podcast, I talk about a free download for a monthly budget plan. Here is the free download for that spreadsheet. Please print this off when you go over it with your spouse or if you are filling it out yourself: https://cdn.ramseysolutions.net/pdf/fpu/fpuonline/monthly_cash_flow_plan.pdf?_ga=2.144190837.1362513384.1570323025-1315366963.1570323025
